Goodnight, Texas
From the moment that they met in San Francisco in 2007, Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf built a friendship based on words and music. When Wolf moved to North Carolina two years later, the two men kept in touch and continued to combine their very differnt styles to make music. (Wolf's love of acoustic folks and Vinocur's penchance towards rock and blues.)

With the addition of Alex Nash and Scott G. Padden, Goodnight, Texas was truly born and their debut LP, A Long Life of Living won them fans from the realms of rock, blues, Americana and folk. Eighteen months on the road supporting bands like Shakey Graves and Rusted Root helped hone their sound and expand their fan base.

In August, the band's sophomore release, Uncle John Farquhar is due out and they're offering their first single, "A Bank Robber's Nursery Rhyme," as a free download from their site if you sign up for their newsletter. They describe the tune as " the mantra of being bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and in love in America; it's the battle cry of those taught to seek fortune and excitement from a young age." The song also makes reference to some of the pitfalls of worshipping the all-mighty dollar, and what the love of money and chase of the American dream will drive some people to do. In August, the band will visit five cities on the west coast, sharing the new tunes.
