Dr. Luke: Piece by Piece
And, it's safe to say she is not a fan.
"We've clashed before," Clarkson said (via Refinery 29). "He's difficult to work with, he's kind of demeaning. Obviously he's a talented dude, but he's lied a lot. Musically it's been really hard for me, because he will just lie to people and it makes the artist look bad."
Though Clarkson denied anything sexual between Dr. Luke (real name: Lukasz Gottwald) and herself and said she didn't know about his relationship with Kesha, she did admit that she only worked on him on her 2009 album All I Ever Wanted because her label RCA Records (which is owned by Sony, which also owns Gottwald's Kemosabe Records) "blackmailed" her.
"The last time I worked with him, I only worked with him because literally I got blackmailed by my label," Clarkson admitted. "It was a really hard time for me. They were like, 'We will not put your album out if you don't do this.'"
Clarkson had previously been criticized for not speaking out against Dr. Luke. When Kesha was first denied an injunction from her contract with the man she says raped her and abused her, Clarkson was largely silent, except for an ominous retweet.
