Each and every week we put together our favorite tracks that had premiered a few days prior into one magnificent mixtape to share with you and your friends. This time around we've decided to share new 2016 songs from Kendrick Lamar, Meghan Trainor, Pity Sex and more right here!
You can check out more buzzing news coverage from Music Times right here!
We're obviously going to open this week's mixtape with the biggest news in music last week: Kendrick Lamar's surprise album, Untitled Unmastered. You can stream this new album right here (or on Spotify)!
Since we shared an album stream above, our next submission to the mixtape will be two new songs from one artist. Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold has been pretty quiet since his band's hiatus kicked in a few years ago, but this past week he shared two brand new solo tunes with us. His soothing voice and songwriting talent are just what you need this Monday! You can watch live performances of these songs over at Consequence of Sound!
Speaking of lead singers of bands going solo, Dum Dum Girls frontwoman Kristin Welchez shares the first song, "X-Communicate," of her pop music project, under the moniker Kristin Kontrol. You can check out our previous coverage of this news right here!
Jesse Lacey is the frontman of Brand New, but this week he released a solo cover of R.E.M.'s "Bad Day." Check it out right here:
While we're on the subject of new versions of other tunes, check out Disclosure's remix Flume's "Never Be Like You" and Tyler the Creator's remix Kanye West's "Freestyle 4" with A$AP Rocky.

Another talented woman that is making (arguably much better) music is Mitski, who announced her new album, Puberty 2, this week, along with 2016 tour dates, all accompanied by her first single off of the upcoming record, "Your Best American Girl." Check out our previous coverage of all of this information right here!
Pity Sex also announced their own 2016 tour dates this past week, but also shared the new song "Bonhomie." Check it all out right here!
If you're looking to share some music with a pal or a significant other, we think that this new mix is perfect for such a gift! Enjoy these songs together!
