Wireless Festival has announced its 2016 lineup. The London-based all-genre music festival will be headlined by the likes of Calvin Harris, Kygo, J. Cole, Future, Chase & Status and Skepta's grime label, Boy Better Know.
The lineup is broken down by day from Friday to Sunday. Calvin Harris is the main headliner on Friday, July 8. He will be joined by The 1975, Miguel, Bryson Tiller, Vic Mensa, Kwabs, "How Deep Is Your Love" collaborators Disciples who join him on almost every UK festival lineup, Anne-Marie and others.
The following day, Chase & Status and J. Cole co-headline, with Future, Sigma (Live), Craig David's TS5, A$AP Ferg, Krept & Konan, Wilkinson (Live) and WSTRN all performing.
The final night will be heavy on hip-hop beyond the main headliners. Skepta's Boy Better Know will close out the night, but they will be joined by Kygo, Martin Garrix, Jess Glynne, Action Bronson, Kehlani, Section Boyz, Young Thug, Jeremih, Vince Staples, Dillon Francis, Anderson .Paak and others.
It is remarkable to see Kygo above Martin Garrix on the lineup. There is always the politics of creating a lineup poster and maybe their respective teams prioritize those things differently, but this lends itself to how Wireless sees these two artists translating to a mainstream UK audience.
The whole festival will be closed out on the main stage by the Boy Better Know crew with JME, Skepta, Jammer and others. If they really wanted to turn things up, BBK could bring out recent signee Drake for a special performance.
Wireless Festival will take place this summer from July 8-10 at Finsbury Park in London.
More artists will be announced soon. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9 a.m. GMT. Pick them up at the Wireless Festival website. Check out the announced lineup below.
