Country music's The Boot debuted the Golden Boot Awards this year with five categories: Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Live Act of the Year and Artist of the Year. Each category featured seven artists who made waves in the country world from May 2013 through April 2014. Fans voted through June 9, 2014 and winners were announced earlier this week.
Song of the Year - Lee Brice - "I Drive Your Truck"
Lee won with 43.08% of the vote, beating out Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Kacey Musgraes, Florida Georgia Line and Dierks Bentley
Album of the Year - Alan Jackson - The Bluegrass Album
Alan won with 44.14% of the vote, beating out Kenny Rogers, Eric Church, Brandy Clark, Dierks Bentley, Kacy Musgraves and Eric Paslay.
Music Video of the Year - Kellie Pickler - "Someone Somewhere Tonight"
Kellie won with 32.17% of the vote, beating out Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Eric Church, The Band Perry, Kacey Musgraves and Little Big Town.
Live Act of the Year - George Strait
George won with nearly half of the vote - 49.24%, beating out Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift and Eric Church.
Artist of the Year - George Strait
George won this category with over half of the vote - 53.39%, beating out Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Kacey Musgraves and Tim McGraw. What a wonderful way to retire -- on top!
