Jose Gonzalez: tour
The video follows dancer Yared Cederlund expressing freeform dancing to the various slow melodies and lyrics found in this soothing track from Gonzalez. It is a simple video as Cederlund spends most of his time on a secluded stage behind a curtain, though he does step out into public where a few people walk by him. The movement is smooth, elegant and slow, much like the track itself.
Directed by Malin Ingrid Johansson, the director commented on the video and the how he decided to put this together visually.
"Using both the physical movement through Yared's body, and the movement between the two rooms, we wanted to do something as contradictory as visualizing the invisible. Us people are often strongly under the influence by forces we can't see," reflects Johansson in a statement. "Forces inside and outside of us, sometimes created by events that took place long before us. In the same way, our actions today will affect those coming long after us. By then we will be what's invisible."
