Jesse Hughes has some controversial theories over exactly what happened during the Paris attacks at Le Bataclan that occurred during an Eagles of Death Metal show this past November -- the frontman claims that Le Bataclan itself may have been involved in the tragedy through security guards at the venue.
“When I first got to the venue and walked in,” Hughes said in an interview with Fox Business, “I walked past the dude who was supposed to be the security guard for the backstage. He didn’t even look at me. I immediately went to the promoter and said, ‘Who’s that guy? I want to put another dude on,’ and he goes, ‘Well, some of the other guards aren’t here yet,’ and eventually I found out that six or so wouldn’t show up at all.”
Out of deference to the ongoing police investigation Hughes did not make any definitive accusations, but would say that, “It seems rather obvious they had a reason not to show up.”
The full interview is set to air on Fox Business Network this upcoming Wednesday (March 16) and Thursday (March 17) on 8 P.M. eastern time.
In an emotional interview following the Paris attacks Hughes also expressed that he didn’t feel that France’s gun control policy in any way prevented the tragedy that occurred at Le Bataclan. Hughes is himself an outspoken gun advocate.
“Did your French gun control stop a single f---ing person from dying at the Bataclan?” Hughes said in the interview. “And if anyone can answer yes, I’d like to hear it, because I don’t think so. I think the only thing that stopped it was some of the bravest men that I’ve ever seen in my life charging head-first into the face of death with their firearms.”
