Grimes is known for her electrical energy during performances, but things got amped up a little too much when the "Flesh Without Blood" singer was shocked during a performance in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday (March 15).
According to Stereogum, faulty audio equipment was to blame for the shocks sustained by Grimes. The artist also had to stop a few songs partway through because of other technical mishaps. Despite the multiple shocks, Grimes finished the show. As reported by NME, Grimes also used Twitter to tell fans that she was “fine” following the performance and that she was excited to make another trip to Dublin.
The performer also posted a note to her Instagram apologizing to the Olympia Theatre in Dublin following claims that the venue was responsible for the technical mishap.
“We’ve triple checked everything and haven’t yet discovered what the issue was,” she wrote. “The Irish promoters were nothing but lovely and I don’t want them to take the blame for something that was most likely on our end. I also want to reiterate that everyone on my team and especially my audio guys did everything they could without stopping the show.”
In other Grimes news, she surprise released a new song “Fifteen Minutes To,” via her Tumblr account in December. She wrote on the post that it was “probably” written before her 2010 album Halafaxa. The obscure track was discovered by avid fans hidden in a 2010 episode of the from the since cancelled show Midnight Poutine Podcast.
