Fans of mid-2000s British alt-rock rejoice: The Libertines' reunion is getting an extension. Today (June 16), the "Up The Bracket" band announced it will follow its Hyde Park gig in London with five more concerts in September and October for a European tour. Oh, and singer Pete Doherty teased that he, Carl Barat and co. could be releasing new music, too.
According to NME, The Libertines will be extending its two UK shows and headlining festival shows in Spain and Portugal to five more European shows, making a full-blown tour out of the reunion. The five concerts will take place in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Tickets for the short tour will go on sale Friday, June 20.

For Libertines fans unable to make the trek to Europe this fall, Doherty has also teased that the band could be rolling out new music, a first since its 2004 album The Libertines.
"A new record is exactly what we're talking about, that's the dream, really. Finish off all those ideas that we never completed back in the day, all those songs we never played for anyone else that have been floating around in the ether. We're also wanting to try out a few new ideas so it wouldn't just be old stuff," Doherty said in an interview with The Daily Record. "I don't want to tempt fate but we both have the desire, so I think it will happen. It's important to be honest and there's still a lot we have to say. We're still relevant."
