When Unspoken, Centricity Music's new band, released their debut album on April 1, 2014, they were hopeful that the week-long radio promo tour would help get the music out there and that fans would love it. Their wishes came true on both fronts and the band has now broken Billboard's Top 20 list, inching up each week since May 31st. Since they've already had two top 5 singles ("Who You Are" and "Lift My Life Up"), being on top isn't a new thing, but it's always a great thing!
The music video for the song, which was shot while the band was on the KLOVE Listener Appreciation Tour, is doing well too as they've already crossed the 100K mark on views, Not a project that was planned to death, the group would get up early in the morning, jump in a van and stop at any location that caught the attention of the band members and their video director, Max Hsu (of Superchick). By the time they were done filming, they had recorded video footage in Baton Rouge, LA, San Antonio, TX, Oklahoma City, OK , Denver, CO and Kansas City, KS.
In a press release, Steve Ford, Vice President of Marketing, Centricity Music, talked about the band's work ethic and the "overnight success" myth, saying, "I look at the three year journey we have been on with Unspoken, the hard work they have put in to get to this point and I get excited for the band. They have toured extensively, shook a lot of hands and kissed a lot of babies while out on the road, all in the name of building a solid foundation for the band and their ministry. To look at the sales and radio charts and see them in the Top 20 of every chart gives a lot of credence to the idea that it takes years to be an overnight success."
