You know it’s bad when your own band ditches you onstage. During a recent show, Puddle of Mudd left singer Wes Scatlin alone onstage following a disturbing performance. The show took place in Doncaster, England, and was reportedly a trainwreck, with the "She Hates Me" singer giving the audience a terrible show by merely sitting in a chair with his shirt off.
According to Billboard, the show was sold out with 500 attendees. Many assumed that Scatlin was high or drunk during the performance, and fan footage doesn't help his case. Scatlin falls to the ground in one video, during one of the band’s greatest hits “Blurry.” In another short video, Scatlin leaves the stage, and then his band left him alone later on in the evening, where the singer remained until his microphone was cut.
He then reportedly said to the audience, “My band Puddle of Mudd who I thought was my band has quit on me. They have stopped playing with me - not a surprise.”
Following the disastrous performance, the venue released a statement apologizing for the show.
“It will be no secret that last nights Puddle of Mudd gig didn’t exactly go to plan as our 500 strong audience were certainly treated to a very ‘rock n’ roll’ evening, and in the end, quite concerning performance from lead singer, Wes Scatlin," they said. “Hopefully Wes gets the help that he requires for the sake of his own health and the career of an awesome band."
This is not the first time in recent memory that Scatlin has had problems onstage. During a performance at Adelphia Music Hall in Ohio he even berated a fan from the stage. During the tirade, Scatlin claimed that the man had stolen his former home in Hollywood Hills. It wasn’t confirmed whether or not the new owner of Scatlin’s former residence was actually at the show, but the tirade reportedly came following an arrest for breaking into that same home and vandalizing it.
