Demi Lovato was honored with the prestigious Vanguard Award at the 2016 GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday (Apr. 2) in Los Angeles. While delivering her acceptance speech, the singer thanked those who have continued to support her, like her longtime friend, Nick Jonas. The audience went nuts when Lovato shared intimate details about Jonas, including a shocking announcement about his dick size.
Jonas presented the 23-year-old Texas native with the Vanguard Award, which is awarded to specific media professionals who have made significant efforts in promoting equality and acceptance for everyone. Throughout her musical career, Lovato has openly expressed her support for gay rights and staying true to who you are.
After gracefully accepting the award, the "Stone Cold" singer took a less conventional route to kickoff when addressing the ceremony attendees. Lovato jokingly compared her private parts to what Jonas was packing in his pants, guaranteeing she has a lot more to offer in that department.
"What people don't know about me is I know that you all love Nick Jonas but I actually have a bigger dick than he does," Lovato said onstage as she began her acceptance speech, generating laughs and applause. "And a huge set of balls. I'm going off script, by the way."
Lovato opened up about consistently using her platform as a successful artist and actress to inspire others and emphasize the power of confidence. She also gave a special shout-out to her boyfriend Wilmer Valerderrama for being an uplifting force in her life.
Lovato, who was named the LA Pride Parade Grand Marshall in 2014, joins a long list of celebrities to take home the Vanguard Award. Kerry Washington, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Kristin Chenoweth, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlize Theron, Antonio Banderas and Drew Barrymore are a part of the Hollywood elite honored in the past.
"I always knew that if I ever made it as a singer, that I needed to use my voice for so much more than just singing," Lovato said. "And this award means so much to me, more than music, any music award, because this is the real stuff. "
Catch Lovato, Jonas and several other celebrities take the stage at the 2016 GLAAD Media Awards when it airs later tonight (Monday, Apr. 4) at 10 p.m. EST on Logo TV.
