American Idol may have come to an end with La'Porsha Renae standing in the runner-up position, but her vocals have allowed her to take her talent to new heights. Despite losing the competition, the soulstress has officially signed a record deal with Motown Records.
Though La'Porsha was a name that many were rooting for during the show's finale season, she failed to take the top spot and lost to Trent Harmon, who came out as the show's final winner. During a recent interview with ET, the Mississippi native revealed how, despite coming in second, "in [her] heart she's okay."
The Season 15 contestant could be at peace with the decision that placed her in the runner up position because she still managed to land a deal with one of the more prominent record labels amongst soul and R&B artists. As reported by EUR, the 23-year-old signed a recording deal with Motown Records, an imprint of Universal Music Group.
The mother of one took to Instagram to encourage all of her fans and supporters to keep believing in her and how even though she didn't win, her gift of singing to the world, is far from over.
In a photo showing off her "big hair," that has notably become one of her most favorable traits, the Idol Season 22 runner-up wrote, "
"Trent may have gotten the title of being the Final American Idol & he deserves it, but I have still been given the title of being Kelly Clarkson's bookend," explained La'Porsha "I will live up to that through my success;) Trent and I both won a car, money, & record deal. My title will be formed by my success. I've been signed to@MotownRecords and can't wait to see you guys in concert with me!!"
Renae is not the only one who sees just how bright her future will be. Ethiopia Habtemariam, president of Motown and president of urban music/co-head of creative at Universal Music Publishing Group, stated, "We are extremely excited to partner with Big Machine and 19 Entertainment on such an incredible talent as La'Porsha," as reported by EUR.
All are excited to see what's next for La'Porsha Renae.
