Charlotte, North Carolina's Funk Fest has announced the 2014 lineup. The two-day festival takes place September 12-13 at Metrolina Expo Fairgrounds.
Topping the bill this year are OutKast and LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip, along with funk/soul/R&B legends War, the always busy The Roots, hip-hop vets Doug E Fresh and Salt N Pepa, soul-rock crooner Fantasia, '80s-era Minneapolis band Morris Day & The Time. More artists will be announced soon.
The current schedule is as follows:
Friday: OutKast, War, Fantasia, Doug E Fresh (gates open at 4 p.m. with shows starting 6 p.m.)
Saturday: LL Cool J, The Roots, Salt N Pepa, Morris Day & The Time (gates open at 2 p.m. with shows starting at 4 p.m.)
Tickets for the festival are currently on sale starting at $80 for a two-day GA pass, $100 for a two-day "Clean But Funky" Chill Lounge Pass (available for prucahse to any ticket holder inside the event each night), and $1,000-1,500 for VIP packages. One-day passes are also available.
