Earlier this month, Music Times reported that Iggy Azalea had a few choice words for Lorde's Nirvana tribute performance and Lorde is finally speaking out.
She gave a simple response and didn't throw any shade on Iggy Igg.
According to Billboard she said she "enjoyed" the Nirvana Rock Hall Tribute and "had a good time."
"That's all that mattered," the New Zealand singer told the Herald Sun. "I've been in a position where I've said something in an interview where I've thought, 'Damn, I wish I could take that back."
Lorde went on to say that she respected Iggy.
"I don't know how (Iggy) is feeling about it," Lorde continued, "But anyone who's doing well deserves respect, and I respect what she's doing."
As previously reported, Iggy was featured on an issue of Billboard as its Hot 100 No. 1 artist and she took the opportunity to voice her opinion on the performance.
"Nothing against her, but I think when you're doing a tribute to someone that's dead, generally it should be the person's peer," Iggy told the magazine. "Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."
Once word got out about what she said, Iggy took to Twitter to defend herself writing, "My opinion on the makings of a touching musical tribute wasn't meant as some back door way to take a dig at her or the performance she gave."
During the April 10 tribute performance, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett, Annie Clark and Lorde each sang a Nirvana song with Pat Smear and original Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.
Lorde closed the set with "All Apologies."
