Billy Joel, East Hampton Hero: Piano Man Aids Fallen Woman In East Hampton

Billy Joel: Piano Man, Music Man ... Super Man? The legendary pianist recently came to the rescue of a 65-year-old woman who had taken a spill on a Hamptons crosswalk, as Today.com reports.

The fall occurred on Monday while Joel was on a motorcycle ride through the ever so opulent East Hampton area. Word has it that he spotted the fallen woman and immediately sprung from his bike and offered some assistance. Donned in his jeans, baseball cap and leather jacket, the "New York State of Mind" singer then went on to gather the woman's grocery bags from the street and help the emergency responders move her safely to a bench on the sidewalk.

To some surprise, The Entertainer didn't split right away. He stayed back a bit to have a little conversation with the woman, perhaps making sure she was okay, inquiring if she needed anything further and maybe even giving her tickets to his monthly Madison Square Garden show. We don't know, of course; that last one is pure conjecture. It'd be pretty cool though, no?

While the reason for the woman's tumble remain unknown – maybe she saw Billy Joel on a motorcycle and was like, "Oh my God! That's Billy Joel on a motorcycle!" – all appeared to be just fine given the photos from the scene.

In the end, as unfortunate and embarrassing as it might have been for the woman, having a legend help her up is a pretty great thing and undoubtedly lends itself to a story.

We certainly hope she's a fan of Joel's. If not, it's safe to say he would have still come to the rescue ... right?
