Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera performed a duet on The Voice with Grande replacing a hologram of Whitney Houston.
According to Billboard, the hologram had been scheduled to be used in the performance was not to Houston’s family’s standards and they asked that it not be included. Executor Pat Houston reportedly said that the timing wasn’t right.
So Grande filled in for Houston by joining Aguilera on the show and performed “Dangerous Woman” from her new album of the same name. She also sang “Into You” from the new album according to NME.
In other Grande news, she had also performed both of these songs at the Billboard Music Awards, and almost tripped on live television shortly before an interview.
According to reports, Grande nearly tripped as she approached host Sibley Scores for an E! Live on the Red Carpet interview. Despite the mishap, Grande expressed gratitude towards her fans and the positive reviews she has received on her latest album.
“It feels amazing. I’m so grateful for the response. Everyone has been all around positive and I’m not supposed to read things like that but I’ve been on Twitter just reading,” she said to Scores during the interview. “It’s been the most positive reaction to anything I ever put out. When you work so hard -- I’m going to cry.”
