The Meek Mill and Drake beef has been renewed with diss lyrics on an “All The Way Up” remix, which centers on Mill’s consistent claims that the Canadian rapper employs ghostwriters for his songs.
The two have been feuding since June of 2015, shortly after Mill first claimed that Drake doesn’t write his own raps following a guest starring role on his song “R.I.C.O” from the album Dreams Worth More Than Money according to NME.
In his newest lyrics aimed at Drake, Mill says, “This is hip-hop/You ain’t write it, don’t record it/I don’t know how they gettin’ down ‘cross the border.” He also took a shot at Drake’s latest chart-topping album, Views, rapping, “Views from the projects?/N***a, I’m the prospect.”
Shortly after the feud started in July 2015, Drake shot back at Mill with his songs “Charged Up” and “Back To Back.” On “Charged Up,” Drake asserted that he kept quiet during the feud to be dignified and in “Back To Back,” said that his favorite team, the Toronto Blue Jays, would beat out Mills’ team, the Philadelphia Phillies.
“All The Way Up” seems to be a popular song to vent on, as Jay Z also remixed that very track to voice his stance on Beyonce’s Lemonade album and his supposed infidelity throughout their marriage.
But there was one voice that seems to think that the feud is all just part of the rap game, and in an interview on Larry King, rapper French Montana said, “I feel like with this situation, it’s different, but at the end of the day, I don’t feel like they have real problems. I feel like it’s just a sport. It’s a sport, so it’s like competition… Sometimes you spar with somebody. That’s what that is. Cause ain’t nobody get hurt. Nothing happens. So, I feel like it’s just part of the game. It brings excitement to the game.”
