Chris Cornell of Soundgarden's Stalker Misses Court Date, FBI Investigation Underway

An FBI investigation is currently underway to find Chris Cornell’s stalker, Jessica Robbins, who reportedly missed a court date in New York earlier this week. Robbins was slated to appear in court this past Tuesday (May 24) on charges of stalking the Soundgarden front man, but detached her GPS ankle monitor imposed in court and skipped out on the hearing.

Robbins was first brought up on stalking charges against Chris Cornell in 2014 following hundreds of alleged threats sent to both the musician and his family online. She also reportedly traveled seven hours to break into his residence.

TMZ has reported that the FBI now hold a bench warrant for her arrest and an investigation is underway, with both U.S. marshals and Florida police personnel attempting to find her.

According to NME, Robbins was last seen in Tampa, Florida. Authorities are trying to find her before Cornell’s scheduled dates in Clearwater and Jacksonville on June 16 and 17.

When 32-year-old Robbins was first arrested in 2014, her bail was set at $50,000 by a New York area judge. Due to the alarming number of threats she had sent Cornell and his family through various social media outlets, she was ordered to stay offline, undergo psychiatric evaluation and treatment as well as wearing the ankle monitor. At the time, she was also forbidden to go within 1,000 feet of Soundgarden’s concert in Tampa that year.

According to court records, Robbins accusing Cornell of plagiarizing her writing as well as accusing his wife, Vicky, of child abuse. She even went so far as to call the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to report the abuse. The Tampa Bay Times then reported that Robbins even asserted that she was the mother of one of his children.
