Drake’s Twitter account was just hacked by a user trying to promote their Snapchat. He is only the most recent in a string of celebrities that have had their accounts hacked as of late. This past weekend, Keith Richards, Tame Impala, Tenacious D and Bon Iver were all hacked. Katy Perry even reportedly had a new song leaked when hers was hacked into.
According to Noisey, the series of tweets that have since been deleted appear to show that Drake also fell victim to having his account hacked. The user behind the hack seems to be @2aiden3, who had his or her account suspended following the incident. The tweets seem to suggest that @2aiden3 was aiming to highlight their Snapchat account.
NME reported that this past weekend, Tame Impala’s account was hacked and a bomb threat was sent out through the band’s page. The post, tweeted at Jet Blue, reportedly read, “I HAVE 15 C4’S IN MY BAG AND 12 PIPEBOMBS IN MY BAG ALSO.”
The hack into Tenacious D posted that frontman Jack Black had died, but fans have since been told that he is not dead.
When Perry’s Twitter account was hacked late last month, a string of uncharacteristic posts ensued, including a “miss u baby” to Taylor Swift, with whom the pop star does not have a good relationship with. The two used to be friends, but had a falling out when Perry supposedly hired Swift’s backup dancers and was accused of trying to “sabotage an entire arena tour,” as reported by US Magazine.
In addition to the random tweet at Swift, Perry’s email account was also posted to Twitter and reportedly showed in it a claim to take down the song from Soundcloud. The hacker signed off with “haha follow @sw4ylol #hackersgonnahack” but the account has not been suspended as of yet and the hacker is reportedly based in Romania.
