"Where I've Been," the latest single from The Freemans' album, Voice In The Desert was written by AJ & Cleve Clark, good friends of the group and Tommy Connors. The song was based on a very personal story from AJ and it only took one listen and The Freemans were in love with it.
The video is a concept video that will appeal to a wide range of listeners because at some point in life, everyone has been down. Walking through seasons of trouble and brokenness are hard, but they are walked out every day by someone. For those facing that path, "Where I've Been" is an uplifting song of hope. The video reflects upon the past and where we were in the darkest times, leaving them behind and rising above and beyond into a brighter present and future. It was storyboarded and filmed by Big Merlin Productions in Nashville. The main location was picked not just for it's stunning view of music city, but to represent rising above where the story began. Major landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium, The Country Music Hall Of Fame, Bridgestone Arena, Famous Broadway, The AT&T "Batman" building, and the brand new Nashville Convention center are all included.
For the band, making relevant music and videos that will reach out to viewers are a big part of their ministery. In a press release, Darrell Freeman explained, saying, "For those loyal fans of thirty plus years or the newest fan just discovering our music we want to bring the hope we have in Christ to help us through the darkest days."
