Wiz Khalifa has revealed that he will be releasing new music “sometime this week” on Twitter. He also officially announced that his upcoming album is almost finished.
The announcement of his upcoming new music comes exactly a month after the rapper unleashed joint album entitled TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening with producer TM88 and Memphis based rapper Juicy J. His sixth solo album Khalifa was additionally released this past February.
According to NME, the new album will be entitled Rolling Papers 2 and is the sequel to his 2011 album Rolling Papers. Khalifa has been touting the album since last year and released a song from the new album this past May, which remains untitled.
Thus far, TM88 is the only collaborator on Rolling Papers 2 that has been confirmed at this time. TM88 has some serious credentials, and has produced both Gucci Mane and Travi$ Scott.
Last week, it was also revealed that Khalifa would be joint headlining Bestival with Sean Paul on the last day of the three-day event. The two are in good company, and join The Cure and Major Lazer, who are also headlining. Bestival is slated to take place on Sept. 8-11.
In other Khalifa news, the rapper recently talked about his beef with Kanye West on The Breakfast Club radio show. In the interview, Khalifa expressed that he hasn’t completely forgiven West for suggesting that he actually fathered his 3-year-old son Sebastian with ex-wife Amber Rose.
“We spoke on the phone and he apologized,” Khalifa said during the interview. “I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s squashed, though, because when you talk to him about it, it doesn’t add up to what he said to me on the phone.”
