On Saturday, Drake and Rihanna joined forces to pay tribute to their dedicated fan, Megan Flores, who recently died from cancer. The two artists, who have been the center of recent dating rumors, referred to Flores as an angel in their Instagram posts.
After her long battle with cancer, Flores died on July 9, E! Online reported. News about her death immediately reached Rihanna and Drake, who are currently in Europe for the promotional tour of the former's eight studio album, Anti.
Despite their busy schedules, the two singers were still able to make the time to say goodbye to Flores and thank her for her dedication as a fan. In Drake's post, he included a selfie a taken by Flores that was edited using Snapchat's flower crown filter.
"Rest in peace my angel," Drake posted. "I know heaven is celebrating today."
Flores got the chance to meet her idols personally back in March during a concert in Miami through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She first met Drake at the event who then introduced her to Rihanna. According to her Instagram post at that time, hanging out with Drake and Rihanna was the best day of her life.
The face-to-face meeting also had a huge impact on the two artists. For Rihanna, getting to know Flores gave her a better perspective on life. She also considers the special fan as an inspiration due to the strength and dedication she displayed despite her condition.
As for Drake, he dedicated his fourth studio album, Views, to Flores, according to Bustle.
"This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores," he wrote on one of the pages of the album insert. "I pray for your well-being every day."
Rihanna is currently in Italy for the European leg of her Anti World Tour. She will then head to various venues in France and Germany for live performances this month.
