DVBBS has denied a link to the two women found unconscious in their dressing room after their performance at the Balaton Sound Festival in Hungary this past Saturday (July 9).
Hungarian publication BORS reported that the unconscious women were discovered by cleaners after both DVBBS and their entourage were gone from the festival. The women had reportedly been invited backstage by the DJs after their set and ambulances were called the second they were discovered.
According to Blikk, the women were brought to the hospital but no instant medical attention was necessary as reported by a doctor on the scene. The women were unable to tell police most of what happened because they did not remember.
DVBBS and two members of their entourage were arrested by police at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport for marijuana paraphernalia charges shortly following the discovery of the women. The marijuana charges were brought forth after the group failed a rapid drug test. 444 reported police statements that insinuated the marijuana charges and the discovery of the unconscious women were related, but news from the group itself implies otherwise.
“We are shocked that some attendees of the Balaton Festival were victims of events which got them hospitalized,” the group said in a statement to Billboard.
“Police asked our cooperation for the investigation and of course we did what we could. Police confirmed there isn’t any link between us and what happened, that’s why we took off a couple of hours later to our next gig in Ibiza. There is another case going on independently from this in connection with marijuana and we gladly answer all questions regarding this and help the police to solve the case. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
