Selena Gomez has beat out her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, for the most-liked Instagram photo in the history of the social media site. Her high mark was achieved by 4 million of her 89.1 million Instagram followers liking a photo of her sipping Coca-Cola.
The photo was posted two weeks ago and is an ad campaign for Share a Coke and a Song, which features her song “Me & the Rhythm.” The coke bottle posted in the photo features her lyric “You’re the spark” on the bottle.
The second most-liked photo on Instagram was posted by Justin Bieber, which was a throwback photo of him and Gomez when they were dating. Gomez’s photo beats out Biebers by 400,000 likes. She also beats out Bieber in number of Instagram followers.
This is not the only success that Gomez has had on the social networking site. She surpassed Taylor Swift as the most followed person on Instagram this past March. The “Same Old Love” singer had amassed 69.5 million followers total at the time according to E!. At the time, Swift only had 69.3 million followers.
In addition to Swift, Gomez beat out Kim Kardashian, who held 63.7 million followers, Ariana Grande, who had 63.3 million, Beyonce’s 63.1 million and Kylie Jenner’s 54.4 million. It is worth nothing that Gomez's account is far less curated than the others, although she posts fashion photos and snaps of her with famous friends.
Gomez is currently in the middle of her Revival Tour, which spans 42-dates, the next of which is slated for July 23 in Jakarta, Indonesia according to Billboard.
