Nick Jonas felt sad immediately after not seeing his name on the official list of nominees for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. But, after quickly ranting about getting snubbed, he realized that he has so many things to be thankful for.
Jonas was hoping that his latest single "Close" from his new album Last Year was Complicated will get at least one nomination in the upcoming VMAs. But, unlike other artists, such as Drake, Ariana Grande, Adele and Beyoncé, who was able to scoop up a total of 11 nominations, Jonas wasn't so lucky this year, according to E! Online.
On Twitter, he admitted that he felt disappointed that his song was not nominated at the upcoming awards show.
However, after a few minutes of dwelling on the matter, he soon realized that he's doing pretty well in his career. After all, aside from releasing a new album this year, he's currently going around the U.S. and Canada with his close friend and fellow artist Demi Lovato for their Future Now Tour.
Jonas is not the only high-profile artist who wasn't able to join the official lineup of nominees for the 2016 MTV VMAs. Despite her strong presence in the music industry, Taylor Swift also did not receive a single nomination in the upcoming program.
But, as noted by Us Magazine, that's probably because her latest album, 1989, came out in 2014 and she already had numerous nominations last year. During the 2015 MTV VMAs, Swift bagged a total of 10 nominations for her "Bad Blood" single.
