Event promoter Jeremy Hill has filed a lawsuit against Faith Evans due to a contract dispute involving her appearance at the upcoming Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour. Aside from seeking compensation, the promoter also wants to block Evans' performance in the event organized by Puff Daddy.
Hill, a businessman from Georgia, booked Evans to perform at Atlanta's Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Sept. 10. As part of the deal, the promoter paid the singer $17,500. After finalizing the deal, Hill then learned that Evans will also be part of the Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.
As noted by TMZ, this became a problem for Hill because the Bad Boy tour will also hit Atlanta on Sept. 8. Hill claimed that this violates the non-compete condition in Evans' contract, which basically states that the artist cannot do a performance within a 100-mile radius of the Wolf Creek Amphitheater for six months before the Sept. 10 event.
Since the Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour on Sept. 8 will place Evans at the Philips Arena in Georgia, Atlanta, Hill considers this as a serious contract violation. Because of this, he decided to sue Evans. Through the legal move, Hill is looking to get at least $100,000 from the singer. He also wants her to honor the contract by removing herself from the tour's lineup for Sept. 8.
Evans, on the other hand, has not yet responded to the lawsuit filed against her.
As for the upcoming tour, the event was officially announced by Puff Daddy in May before holding a Bad Boy reunion show in Brooklyn for what would have been the 44th birthday of Notorious B.I.G., according to Rolling Stone.
The tour is set to begin on Aug. 25 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus Ohio and will feature performances by various artists including Mase and Lil Kim.
