Lil Wayne has finally sort of, kind of announced a new release date for his long-anticipated album Tha Carter V. According to a new interview, the new LP from the Young Money boss is due out sometime this fall.
MTV caught up with Weezy for a short interview and asked him when Tha Carter V was due in stores.
"I'm so not good with that... August, September," Lil Wayne mused after being asked about a release date. He referred to someone off camera, who seemed to announce the album will be released Aug. 25, but Wayne was also open to the idea of a late July or even early September release, surrounding his upcoming co-headlining tour with his fellow YMCMB rapper Drake. So, even if Wayne doesn't know exactly what's going on, the album is due soon.
Two things Wayne could seem to confirm: he has finished work on Tha Carter V and the album will be immediately preceded two months later with DOA (Da Other Album).
"If Tha Carter was to drop in August, [DOA] will be October," he confirmed.
