Today (July 1), Trey Songz released his new album Trigga and among all the smooth R&B jams there's one highly anticipated single: his new collaboration with Nicki Minaj "Touchin, Lovin."
Songz brings in the spirit of old school Usher on "Touchin, Lovin," giving spirited, heartfelt vocal takes full of throaty emotion over a heavy, slightly clunky beat. His voice seamlessly weaves in and out of the music, making for a sensual listening experience.
As always, Minaj spits fire for her "Touchin, Lovin" verse, declaring that she doesn't want to love any man, just f**k them. Fair enough...
Songz and Minaj's collaboration made big waves across the Internet late in June, when it was revealed that the R&B crooner sent his female rap collaborator dozens upon dozens of pink roses to her studio as a thank you for working with him.
The Songz/Minaj combination is a tried and true recipe for success. They previously teamed up for Songz's 2010 single "Bottom's Up," which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
