Bomb Squad Visits Puddle of Mudd Frontman Wes Scantlin's House

Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin can’t seem to stay out of trouble this year and recently had a visit from the bomb squad.

Following multiple break-ins on his car Scantlin decided to take measures into his own hands and set up a crude security system.

TMZ reported that Scantlin had set up a radio underneath one car with wires hooked up to the motor, with the second holding wires stretching from the door to the gas tank. Police officers reportedly “laid into” Scantlin for the idiotic setup but did not view it as enough of a threat to arrest him.

According to SPIN, Scantlin has already been arrested twice this year, the first during a traffic stop for “an unspecified controlled substance” and was then arrested for vandalizing and trespassing on the property of the Hollywood Hills house he lost in a 2015 foreclosure. He reportedly told officers “This is my house, man” in a video during the arrest.

Things have been so bad for Scantlin this year that his own band ditched him onstage during a performance in Doncaster, England. The singer was reportedly a train wreck during the performance and merely sat in a chair with his shirt off during their hit song “She Hates Me.”

Billboard reported that the show was sold out with 500 people in attendance and fans assumed that Scantlin was drunk during the performance. Fan footage showed Scantlin falling to the floor during “Blurry,” leaving the stage for a short time and then returning without the band until his microphone was cut.

He then reportedly said into the microphone before it was cut, “My band Puddle of Mudd who I thought was my band has quit on me. They have stopped playing with me -- not a surprise.”
