Live Nation is being sued by fans injured at T.I. concert shooting. In addition to Live Nation, they are also suing Irving Plaza.
TMZ reports that the new lawsuit was brought forth by two plaintiffs that were injured during the shooting, who claim that the security at the venue was lacking. The lawsuit asserts that they sustained the injuries in the madness the ensued after the shooting. Attorney Vincent Provenzano said that his two clients were “trampled” as concert attendees rushed to the doors. At this time the damages that they are seeking for their injuries are unspecified.
The concert shooting occurred on May 25 prior to T.I.’s performance and killed Banga, an associate of opening act Troy Ave. Rapper Troy Ave was also injured but survived the incident. He was later charged with attempted murder when concert surveillance footage of him shooting a gun was uncovered. Thus far, the rapper has pled not guilty to all charges, including multiple counts of possession of illegal weapons.
The rapper himself is suing Irving Plaza for insufficient concert security, asserting that Live Nation failed to provide adequate security during the show. He asserts that a firearm being allowed to enter the premises at all is what lead to the shootings.
Following the charges against him, Troy Ave was jailed and then released on a $500,000 bond for being involved in the shooting. His attorney Scott Leemon revealed during a press conference that Troy Ave is not prepared to take sole responsibility for the tragedy.
