According to social media reports (via Vulture), Kanye West debuted 20 new songs during a private DJ set at a London club following his second Wireless Festival performance.
Not many details have been given as phones and other recording devices were not allowed at the listening party. However, a few of those in attendance have taken to social media to leak some information.
Attendee Jason Powell described the music as "dark," "hellish," and "groundshaking" and revealed that the set lasted more than three hours. He hypothesized that the set was "research for [West's] new album."
Attendee Brandon Sales described the songs as "crazy" and posted a photo he was able to sneak of West in the DJ booth to Instagram. He also claimed that Frank Ocean was in attendance at the event.
According to Kanye To The, West was quoted as saying in his monologue that he was "onto the next album" after this tour.
As Yeezus season approaches, Billboard reported that the album will be "mostly a mixture of soul samples and tamed 'Yeezus'-esque darkness... nothing abrasive." They also noted the album was recorded in Los Angeles and Florence, Italy with potential collaborations from Q-Tip, Rick Rubin, Young Thug, French Montana, DJ Mustard, Tyga, and James Blake, among others.
We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available on the release.
