Today is National Voter Registration Day and there are plenty of artists posting on social media trying to activate their fan bases to get out and make sure they are registered to vote for the November general elections. Some are even getting creative with it, like Katy Perry, who teamed up with Funny Or Die to demonstrate that on Election Day you can vote just about any way you want.
In her new video she wants to make sure everyone knows that they can go to the polls in the state they wake up in - no matter what that is. She wakes up at 10 a.m. in what could be her childhood bedroom with some American flag pajamas and popcorn and other assorted food items in her hair. Her makeup is surprisingly in good shape, but still a bit disheveled.
Examples given are the free XL t-shirt you got from your bank, the breakout, the scrooge and the hunk in child's briefs.
At the polling booth, after showing off the other people in line, she rips her clothes off so she can vote totally free (there are black bars covering her so you obviously can't see). She gets arrested because she only briefly scanned the constitution and is wrong on the whole clothing thing.
Moral of the story is you can wear just about anything to the polls on Nov. 8 as long as they cover your body. Don't be like Katy Perry. Joel McHale also makes an appearance.
If you have not registered to vote, do so right here, right now.
