Joe has a unconventional approach to hyping the release of his new album, My Name is Joe Thomas. With the help of social media and fans, the R&B crooner started a video challenge asking all singers to record and upload their own cover video of them singing his lead single, "So I Can Have You Back."
"So I Can Have You Back" was released in August as the lead single off of Joe Thomas' 12th studio album, My Name Is Joe Thomas. The ballad sets the tone for what fans can expect from the Nov. 11 album and is described as a combination of his "two most successful albums - All That I Am & My Name Is JOE," according to iHeart.
Though Thomas' vocals alone are more than enough to entice fans to buy the album and love the song, he still enlisted the help of his Instagram and Twitter followers to further spread the word. With his "If You Sing I'll Repost It" video trend, Thomas has fans from everywhere recording and uploading themselves belting out the lyrics, "I hope he makes the biggest mistake. The unforgivable that makes your heart break..." These followers were up for the challenge.
The 16 track album is available for pre-order now on iTunes and includes his cover of Adele's "Hello."
It also features a collaboration with Gucci Mane on the single "Happy Hour."
Though Thomas didn't specify whether or not the single would be the next release, he did mention it would be "coming soon" on his Insgram after wrapping the video shoot for the single.
