As previously reported, Lil Wayne and Drake have announced a co-headlining tour kicking off in August. Although the YMCMB team hasn't finalized production for the tour, details on the Drake vs. Lil Wayne concept have been revealed.
According to Rap-Up, Weezy's manager Cortez Bryant came up with the idea and video game maker Capcom (who inspired the promo poster above) will bring their vision to life on stage.
Lil Wayne further explained what we can expect from the rappers on stage.
"Since, thank god we've been so successful, [we'll just be] going back and forth with our hits and getting the crowd to go crazy, then just finally hit the stage together," Weezy told MTV News. "It's a battle type thing."
When asked who he thought would win the battle Wayne said, "I give the good guy the edge."
The 31-city battle tour kicks off August 8 in Buffalo, New York and will make stops in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, and L.A., among other cities.
During his interview with MTV, Weezy also confirmed that Tha Carter V will feature Nicki Minaj and a "few other joints" with Drake beyond their single "Believe Me."
A release date has not yet been confirmed for the album.
