808, the documentary about the incredibly influential drum machine, the Roland TR-808, is available to download for all users. The star-studded film features interviews with the likes of Diplo, Afrika Bambaataa, Pharrell, Questlove and more.
It was premiered at SXSW in 2015 and was premiered as an Apple Music stream last Friday. The film is now available to download on iTunes for everyone.

It is a must-watch for all music nerds and fans of modern music. It chronicles the story of the incredibly important Roland TR-808 drum machine, which can be found in hip-hop, dance and just about every genre of music influenced by modern producing techniques.
After many interviews with a wide variety of different artists and producers, the film makers head to Japan to learn more about the machine and why it was discontinued so early.
"I love this film. The 808 has left an impactful mark on my life. It's been the driving force for so many of my favorite records, and I jumped at the chance to be involved," says Zane Lowe, the film's narrator in a statement. "I wanted to learn more about how this incredible drum machine came to exist, and it's been exciting to hear other people's stories and what it means to them. It's the magic ingredient."
In addition to the film, Atlantic Records has put together a 14-track soundtrack that features the likes of 808 State, Felix Da Housecat, Jamie xx, and Lil Jon. Pick it up here.
