The Shins have been teasing a new album for quite some time now and now with 2017 in full swing, the band has unveiled their new album Heartworms, a single from it "Name For You" and a few tour dates.
Heartworms is the follow-up to 2012's Port of Morrow and written entirely by frontman James Mercer. He also produced much of the LP.
"Name For You" is a hopeful ballad inspired by Mercer's own daughters. In the first verse he sings, "In a world dearly won / Well it's yours love / You can move it around / Given all the drops in the ocean."
It is the second single to emerge from Heartworms, following "Dead Alive" in 2016.
Heartworms will be released on March 10 via Aural Apothecary/Columbia Records. The LP can be pre-ordered now here. The album cover art can be found above.

The Shines were ostensibly supposed to play at Coachella this year, or that is what their team was hoping for when prepping for this album according to Consequence of Sound. So when the lineup was announced on Tuesday, some fans were a little concerned for it. They have assuaged those worries with the Heartworms announcement and some fresh tour dates in the United States and Europe this spring and summer.
