Ed Sheeran: Castle On The Hill" and "Shape of You.
The 12-track LP includes the two singles that were released last week and 10 others that fans have not heard yet. Some seem like they should bring him back to his roots in the UK. There are no listed collaborators at this time.
The symbol for his album Divide continues the theme found in his two previous albums x from 2014 and + from 2011. Divide will be released on March 3. Pre-orders for the LP will begin at midnight, Friday, Jan. 13.
Over the past few days, Ed Sheeran has been on a rodeo tour of interviews to promote his new singles. One of the main themes was writing for other people. He was one of the people who penned "Love Yourself" and admitted it never would have made it onto Divide.
"That was a song I had written for Divide. It just wouldn't have made it," Sheeran explained in an interview with Carson Daly on 97.1 AMP Radio via Billboard. "And then Justin took it and did his thing on it, and released it as a single and made it what it is," continued Sheeran.
He also shared the info that "Shape of You" was originally written in mind for Rihanna, but then they decided to keep it.
"['Shape of You'] is actually a really random one because I went in to write songs for other people with a guy called Steve Mac and Johnny McDaid, and we were writing this song and I was like 'this would really work for Rihanna," he told the BBC. "And then I started singing lyrics like 'putting Van The Man on the jukebox' and I was like 'well she's not really going to sing that, is she?' And then we sort of decided halfway through that we were just going to make it for me."
