Sia: Chandelier
The Blood Orange reworking of "Chandelier" takes away the song's main driving beat, instead refocusing it as a smooth, atmospheric PBR&B jam. Hynes' vocals take center stage, throughout the beginning of the song as he weaves himself in and out of the melody and it's not until 45 seconds in that Sia can be heard, chiming in with her call to "1, 2, 3 drink."
From there, the vocals in the mix intertwine with a xylophone instrumental, giving off seriously different vibes... At one point, all the instrumentation drops out and the song features only Sia with some serious echoing effects, making it sound as though she's actually singing from the ceiling.
As a collaborative effort, the remix works and is almost like a brand new song from Blood Orange and Sia, which is never a bad thing...

The Dev Hynes remix isn't the first reworking of Sia's "Chandelier," previously the song got a bumping remix courtesy of Four Tet.
In its original form, "Chandelier" is the lead single from Sia's stellar new album 1000 Forms Of Fear, which dropped on Tuesday (July 8). Other singles from the album include "Eye of the Needle" and "Big Girls Cry."
