The Chainsmokers surprised students with an impromptu set at their high school prom in Illinois this past Saturday night (April 29). The school in question was Huntley High School, and the senior prom was being held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Rosemont near the Allstate Arena. The duo had a set scheduled at the hotel for later that night, so apparently they decided to show up just a little early.
“Just crashed Huntley High schools prom! That was awesome! have a good rest of prom,” they posted to Twitter.
The duo followed up with “Your prom could be next,” and “Now back to all state arena cause we got a sold out show in an hour! Big up.”
For a final hurrah The Chainsmokers posted a photo of the prom, writing, “Crashed this prom just now. It was across the street from our arena show, so why not :).”
Ecstatic students immediately followed up with tweets following the incident.
In other Chainsmokers news, the duo were recently just one of few artists who were selected to play the NCAA March Madness Music Festival. Other acts who performed that weekend were Blink-182, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Grouplove, Capital Cities, Leon Bridges and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
