Taylor Swift is reportedly working on new music for her follow-up album to 1989 in a Nashville studio.1989 was released in 2014, and the three-year break between music is the longest Swift has had since she began her career in 2006 with a self-titled debut.
According to E! News, Swift hasn’t been active on social media for almost two months and has not shown up to any press attended events.
“Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months,” an unnamed source told E! “She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can’t wait to share it with her fans.”
The source further said, “She has been entirely focused on that and not much else. She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that’s it.”
This past Wednesday evening, Swift re-emerged on Instagram to support close friends HAIM with the release of their new song “Want You Back.” “On. Repeat. Til. The. End. Of. Time!!” Swift wrote underneath the picture. The “Shake It Off” singer also showed support for her friend Lorde with the release of her single “Green Light.”
Amidst a packed work schedule, Swift has been spending time with friends and recently sent Gigi Hadid flowers for her birthday.
“She is really looking forward to finishing the record and being able to have some down time to reconnect with her friends,” the source added.
