Bobby Brown Drops Out Of New Edition Reunion Tour For Health Reasons

Unfortunately, singer Bobby Brown will not be able to finish out the remainder of the New Edition reunion tour.

BET reports that Brown announced Friday (July 11) that he is dropping out of the group's summer run in order to recover from an undisclosed medical issue.

"I apologize to the fans of New Edition," Brown said in a statement. "I really wanted to be with my brothers, but presently I am unable to give fans what they typically expect from New Edition."

According to TMZ, the singer was having a hard time keeping up with the rest of the group during some recent tour stops and had to leave the stage altogether while in Mississippi.

Brown, Ronny DeVoe, Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell, Johnny Gill and Michael Bivins started the 28-date tour late last month in Connecticut.

Brown eventually underwent "an intrusive medical procedure" and must remain under the care of a doctor.

"At this time, Bobby needs to put his health first, and we wish him a speedy recovery," the statement says, according to CBS. "We are giving each and every show all we've got until his return - and will continue giving the fans 110 percent each night."
