Julian Scanlan has come quite a long way since starting to produce electronic dance music back in 2013. Back then, he was going by the name DJ Swoon and he was making quite the name for himself through some absolutely incredible productions. One track in particular was his beautiful remix of OneRepublic's "If I Lose Myself" which led him to instant notoriety.
Sadly, the DJ Swoon Soundcloud account fell like many others before and still to this day thanks to their rules and regulations surrounding copyright infringement. Fortunately for music lovers around the world, the termination of his account didn't stop Julian from continuing to produce.
So shortly after the termination of the DJ Swoon account, he began producing under a new name; a name we all recognize and love around the world, Slushii. And ever since starting to produce under the Slushii moniker, he has made a massive name for himself. In fact, his debut album 'Brain Freeze' peaked at #4 on the iTunes EDM chart.
Slushii has been keeping himself very busy so far in 2017. He started off the year by releasing his super-melodic single “I Still Recall.” Since then, he has remixed his old Swoon moniker and Michael Herrera’s “Slipping Away,” and released insane remixes of Ariana Grande’s “Side To Side,” Porter Robinson & Madeon's "Shelter," Kayzo's "Whiste Wars" and Alan Walker’s “Faded.” In addition to the slew of remixes, he has also managed to release singles like "Dear Me," "Catch Me," "Sleep" and "Twinbow," his collab with marshmello. And if that wasn't enough, he has also been in the studio working with none-other than Tiesto!
And now today, Slushii has teamed up with label Monstercat and the Rocket League video game to release his newest single "Luv U Need U." The track is off Monstercat & Rocket League's upcoming Compilation featuring 18 songs from Slushii, Aero Chord, Vicetone and much more. So check out "Luv U Need U" below and patiently wait for the compilation to be released July 5th!
