John Mayer New Album 'Paradise Valley' to Feature Appearances by Girlfriend(?) Katy Perry and Frank Ocean

One of the hot items on the celebrity relationship radar is John Mayer and Katy Perry. The pair dated in the past, but rumors have sprung up that the duo is seeing each other again. The announcement that Perry would lend her vocals to a track on Mayer's upcoming album "Paradise Valley" (Due out August 20) will only throw fuel on that fire, no doubt.

Perry is slotted to appear on "Who You Love," which Rolling Stone describes as a "country-tinged mid-tempo track." Although Mayer hasn't admitted anything on the dating front he did acknowledge at Milwaukee's Summerfest that Perry was "so patient" and she "continued to get to know me and love me" while he was undergoing some vocal issues. It's the first time the pair have appeared together in a song.

In other Mayer collaborator news, Frank Ocean will also make an appearance on "Paradise Valley" during the track "Wildfire." Mayer and Ocean might seem like an odd couple but the two have been working together a lot recently. Mayer played guitar on Ocean's song "Pyramids" from his Grammy-winning album "Channel Orange." The pair also appeared together on "Saturday Night Live." Mayer has offered much praise for the R&B star's talents.

"Frank is such an interesting, deep, touched, wonderful guy," he said. "They don't make a lot of other Frank Oceans, and the guy is looking for another. And the way that his mind works is craving the same frequency that he's able to communicate on, and I think he's just searching for that kind of depth that he has inside of himself in someone else. He's fascinating to me. He's so great."

One ex-girlfriend who will at least be referenced on "Paradise Valley" is Taylor Swift. Swift wrote "Dear John" about the guitarist after the pair split, and it's believed that "Valley's" first single, "Paper Doll," is a response. Be prepared for "Dear John II."
