Robyn Reveals Röyksopp Collaboration, 'Do It Again,' Came After A Bout Of Depression

Röyksopp & Robyn: favorite efforts of 2014

"I was super-tired and kind of depressed and had started therapy," the Swedish singer told NME. "I really wanted to make music, and I had lots of ideas, but I didn't want to force anything, or create a concept of what the next album was going to be; I just wanted to collaborate with people."

Röyksopp also spoke about the collaboration to NME.

"We stole a piece of the sun called Robyn and dragged her into Bergen [where the band is based]," Svien Berge said. "We had our things to deal with on a personal level, Torbjorn [Brundtland] and myself. And Robyn. And it's a good thing to just sit together and have no inhibitions -- there's nobody expecting anything from what we are about to do here."

Do It Again dropped back in May, and the collaborators are now on tour in support of the effort throughout the summer.

Beyond their work with Robyn, Röyksopp are working on their fifth LP, which is scheduled for release this fall.

A longer interview with the collaborative team is due out via NME this week.
