On Friday (July 11), basketball player LeBron James rocked the sports world by announcing he would be returning to Northeast Ohio to play for his hometown team the Cleveland Cavaliers. The essay he penned in Sports Illustrated announcing the decision was entitled "I'm Coming Home," and immediately the music world thought of the Diddy - Dirty Money anthem "Coming Home." Now, the 2010 hit's singer Skylar Grey has reworked the chorus for James.
In a 42-second video posted late last week, Grey tweaked the lyrics to "Coming Home" to apply to James and the Cavs, all while sitting at home on her piano.
"I know that Cleveland awaits / And they've forgiven my mistakes / I'm coming home, I'm coming home / Tell the world I'm coming home," she sang before blatantly wishing James a soft-spoken "welcome home."

Grey's tribute to James and his return to Cleveland isn't the only connection between the Diddy - Dirty Money single and the homecoming. Following James' announcement on Friday, "Coming Home" launched back up the iTunes Singles Chart, reaching into the mid-100s. It was actually charted above the Shakira 2014 World Cup anthem "La La La."
Currently, the single sits at No. 173 on the iTunes chart, nestled between the YG and Drake collaboration "Who Do You Love" and Jennifer Lopez's most recent single "First Love."
