“NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9 will be off to an explosive start if the synopsis for its premiere is anything to go by. It indicates that Hetty (Linda Hunt) will be turning in her retirement papers and eventually disappears. Meanwhile, the new Executive Assistant Director Shay Mosley (Nia Long) arrives in LA to oversee the team. She also immediately makes staffing changes.
EP R. Scott Gemmill has stated that Mosley would be unlike that the team has met and dealt with before reports Entertainment Weekly. He also revealed that Granger’s (Miguel Ferrer) replacement will be bringing along her assistant named Harley Hidoko (Andrea Bordeaux) in “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9.
While Mosley is a former Secret Service agent, Harley is an ex-military. She is aloof and appears quite cold to her new colleagues, reasons why it will take some time before the squad warms up to her. Any complaint about Mosley’s leadership will surely reach Harley and dealt with since she is fiercely loyal to her boss.
Sam (LL Cool J) is still mourning his wife’s death and still lives in a trailer on the beach. He is reluctant to go back to the team and insists that Callen (Chris O’Donnell) finds a new partner. “They're trying to figure out how they're going to work Sam back into things because he's really reluctant, so we gotta see how that's gonna unfold,” LL Cool J said in an interview with Extra.
The “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9 premiere that will air on October 1 is titled “Party Crashers.” Behind the scenes photos in its filming showed Callen and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) in the middle of a hostage situation.
Meanwhile, it will also be revealed in the episode that Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) has decided to keep his impending wedding to Kensi from his mother. EP John Peter Kousakis teased that the “NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 9 premiere might give the reason why Deeks felt the need to do so. He will be paying a visit to his mother, played by Pamela Reed.
