Adele absolutely dominated the music world in 2011 and 2012 with the release of her smash album 21 and its subsequent singles "Rolling In The Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire To The Rain," and now it looks like she's aiming to do it again. Rumor has it that the British pop megastar is gearing up to release a new album and embark on a worldwide tour.
According to the official Twitter account for the World Music Awards, Adele has confirmed a 2015 tour following the release of her third studio album, reportedly (and fittingly) titled 25.
It sent out the message at 6:09 p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 15 to its 136,000 followers.
The internationally focused awards ceremony did not expand upon its short tweet or cite an exact source, so skepticism about this news is the correct approach. Adele has yet to publicly discuss or confirm the news of her third studio album as of press time.
However, Adele has previously teased that a new album is well on its way and that it's likely to be titled 25. On her 26th birthday, the new mama tweeted out a makeup-free selfie with the very teasing caption "Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x."
Instantly, it seemed as though Adele had made a coy album announcement, though mum has been the word for over two months, though it is rumored that she's expecting to release her album as a big surprise, a la Beyoncé.
It's been three years since Adele stormed the world with her sophomore effort 21, which saw astronomical sales success. The album was the longest-running No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 since the release of Prince's Purple Rain in 1984, became the first digital album to move over 3 million copies and was named Amazon's top-selling physical album of all time earlier this year.
