Dashboard Confessional released their "We Fight" music video, which is directed by Emmy-award winning artist and comic book writer David Mack, who is also the man behind the famous Marvel comics Daredevil.
"We Fight" music video represents Chris Carrabba's idea of restlessness and the significance of fighting the way out or fighting through, interpreted in a watercolor-based, cartoon-like animation film by the Marvel comics genius.
"It's a weird thing when you write a song. You think you know what it's about, but you don't until some months later sometimes. So, I thought for sure it was just about how I found a place in the world, which was worth fighting for, which was the music scene that I come from," said Carrabba.
Carrabba is the genius behind the band's newest single. The singer-songwriter always tries to pen all his emotions to compose a song that everyone can relate to and eventually love. For him, converting his emotions and putting them into writing can form a nice symmetry with music. These emotions lead him to write songs that their audience can associate with.
True enough, "We Fight" is a lasting song that catches the soul of anybody who listens to it. Moreover, its music video is as stylish and as artistic as how Carrabba and Mack want it to be. The animation in the music video portrays the song and the songwriter's emotions and life encounters.
More so, the song aims to connect with the band's fans and offer them something new after an almost a decade of album hiatus.
"We Fight" is the debut single on Dashboard Confessional's newest album, Crooked Shadows, their first-ever LP after eight long years. This album is a reflection of lifelong experiences and monumental moments of Carrabba, the ones who play important roles in his life, together with the different stories of people close to him.
Crooked Shadows is under Fueled by Ramen label and is set for release on Feb. 9 next year. The album is produced by Carrabba and Jonathan Clark, with Colin Brittain as their co-producer.
The set album release will be followed by the band's U.S. tour beginning March 2018. Dashboard Confessional will be on said tour with Beach Slang, a rock band originating from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Crooked Shadows album tour includes various stops to Houston, Texas, Brooklyn Steel in New York, and Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.
