Dolly Parton has been a longtime supporter of gay rights and these days she's looking to show her support with an LGBT-friendly album.
"At some point I would like to do a dance record and I have several songs that are very positive towards the gay community," Parton revealed at a press conference for her just-wrapped world tour. "I have a song called "Just A Wee Bit Gay." It's a great little dance tune, it's funny and it's got a lot of comic in it... I do write a lot of songs along those lines with people that are different and are just themselves."
Parton, who is often considered an icon in the gay community, has been very vocal about her support for equal marriage rights.
Back in April, she told a British magazine she believes everyone should be with who they love.
"I think everyone should be with who they love," she said. "I think gay couples should be allowed to marry. They should suffer just like us heterosexuals."
And it seems as though Parton has inspired a new generation of artists supporting gay rights.
As previously reported, Demi Lovato was recently named the new face of the Human Rights Campaign's re-launch of Americans for Marriage Equality.
"I believe that love comes in all shapes, sizes and colors," the "Heart By Heart" singer said in a PSA for the campaign. "Whether you're LGBT or straight, your love is valid, beautiful and an incredible love. So let's protect love and strengthen the institution of marriage by allowing loving, caring and committed same-sex couples to legally marry. Please join me and the majority of American citizens who support marriage equality."
No word yet on when Dolly Parton will release her track "Just A Wee Bit Gay."
